How a typical job runs
No two jobs are identical. Depending on the job, the work includes steps like these:
- Use an aerial bucket or climbing access appropriate to the work, and make sure bucket-truck operators are trained to operate the equipment.
- Inspect saws, ropes, saddles, and lift equipment before use, and remove damaged equipment from service.
- When working in the tree, raise or lower tools on a handline attached to the end of the tool.
- Break off small dead branches by hand while climbing, and use appropriate tools to cut larger branches.
- For a branch larger than one inch, make an undercut followed by a top cut just outside it, then make the final cut at the branch collar.
